As released by Harrisburg Downtown Improvement District:

Harrisburg Downtown Improvement District & Harristown Announce Streetlight Repair & Streetscape Project in Downtown

The Harrisburg Downtown Improvement District and Harristown Enterprises, Inc. recently partnered on a large downtown streetscape project. The scope of the project included the repair and replacement of 38 streetlights as well as planting nearly two dozen trees. The project also included sidewalk and curb repairs. The project is expected to be fully complete by year-end.

Residents, and visitors, as well as daily employees commuting into downtown will notice the streetscape changes along Market, Third, Fourth, Chestnut and Walnut Streets. With the increased lighting, businesses can welcome customers confidently during evening hours. Safety is a key component of welcoming residents and visitors, not only for Harristown, owner and operator of downtown’s largest mixed use office and retail complex [Strawberry Square], but also for the Downtown Improvement District, whose mission has been and continues to be keeping downtown clean, safe and beautiful. Harristown is a founding member of the Harrisburg Downtown Improvement District.
