After multiple public hearings and interviews with applicants, Harrisburg City Council proposed the following awards for HUD Community Development Block Grant funds [PASSED 7-0 on July 9, 2013]

    • Community Action Commission: $25,000 for Housing Counseling
    • Fair Housing Council of The Capital Region: $45,000 for Housing Counseling
    • Harrisburg Police Athletic League: $25,000 for Youth Services [Correction: previously stated HPAL received $45,000]
    • Latino Hispanic American Community Center: $25,000 for Youth & Senior Services
    • Christian Recovery Aftercare Ministries: $20,000 for Public Services
    • Christian Love Ministrie: $10,000 for AJB Drug & Alcohol Mentoring Program
    • YWCA of Greater Harrisburg: $25,000 for Renovation at 2433 & 2435 N6th St
    • Camp Curtin YMCA: $100,000 for Renovation
    • Broad Street Market Corporation: $47,739 for Renovation to make Handicap Accessible
    • Rebuilding Together of Greater Harrisburg: $25,000 for Housing Rehabilitation
    • Habitat for Humanity of Greater Harrisburg: $75,000 for Housing Rehabilitation
    • African-American Chamber of Commerce: $10,000 for Microenterprise Development
    • Harrisburg Housing Authority: $65,000 for Housing Project

Harrisburg City Council will vote on these grants Tuesday, July 9th at 6:00pm during its regularly scheduled legislative session.
