Over 100 Volunteers from Wells Fargo, Community Action Commission, and South Allison Hill to Rejuvenate Heart of the Community Garden during Heart on the Hill Community Day

8:30am–2:30pm: Volunteer projects at the garden
Noon: Ribbon cutting with elected officials
Noon–4:00pm: Community festival

WHERE: Heart of the Community Garden 1423 Derry Street
Derry and Kittatinny Streets Harrisburg

WHAT:

Service Projects including:

    • Installing nine 8 foot benches at performance area
    • Installing security lighting
    • Installing four outdoor musical instruments including chimes and drums
    • Constructing new walkways and entrances
    • Removing trash and landscaping entire park
    • Repainting arbor and benches

Community Festival:

    • Community resource tables
    • Children’s activities (i.e. moon bounce, pumpkin painting)
    • DJ and Elks Steppers
    • Performances from local youth organizations
    • Free food and beverages from MashUp Trucks and local vendors
